47 students to receive Larry Sng Education Fund for further studies

KAPIT: Forty-seven students, eligible to receive the Larry Sng Education Fund to further their studies in 2014, will receive their cheques at 8.30am on Wednesday Feb 19 at Larry Sng’s residence along Jalan Airport here to coincide with his Chinese New Year (CNY) open house.

The fund’s founder Larry Sng, former Pelagus assemblyman and president of Sarawak Workers’ Party (SWP) advised the recipients, parents or guardians to come to collect the cheque on time.

“On this auspicious occasion, I also wish to invite community leaders, non-governmental organisations leaders and the public to attend my open house commencing at 9am the same day.

“The cheques will be disbursed at 8.45am at my house. Please do not be late. There are a few more candidates to be finalised soon after we verify their details. The recipients are: Shireen Lisin, Clinton Sempurai Peter Sumbang, Carryzon Balai, Avina Melia Balai, Vyner Melit, Kupab Rimong, Emprang Benjamin, Viviana Jimmy Kana, Gracecia Jimmy Kana, Marsella Haren Maluda, Kevin Kemudang Musin, Sonia Singgar Lembang, Sandra Tingau Unggah, Jenny Kong, Teo Chai Chuan, Sng Wei Sheng, Rebecca Jitet Berantang, Gading Rimong, Timothy Japit, Christie Kunyu, Dominic Chupang Joss, Alepen Erong Denan, Dexter Caesar Sungai, Florence Jaba, Tina Antalang, Cornelius Chia Chung Jun, Tan Zhi Fu, Tan Zhi Yun, Wiltone Kendawang Angit, Harrison Marvin Langit, Doris Tugong, Rimun Po, Susie Bagor, Ricky Kong Qi Yong, Mohd Faridh Rezza Mohd Sabli, Awang Amieruddin Awang Abdul Taip, Lau Siew Zhen, Felicia Tiong Wee Xin, Wong Suok Teng, Wong Suok Hung, Claudia Makong, Kelvin Ling Sheng Siang, Oliver Yu ZhongJie, Shellen Suri Anthony, Priscilla Keluni, Emeline Ampa Bajan, and James Kudi Anong,” he said when contacted by telephone.

Larry Sng Education Fund 2001 was launched by Larry Sng to encourage rural students to pursue higher studies in preparation for the future job market. Larry on numerous occasions stressed the importance of the highest level of education as a step to improve oneself and to enhance their social-economic status.
