KUALA LUMPUR: Club side Felda United FC moved to the top of the Super League table as a number of leading sides fumbled in their bid to gain their foothold on the league table after Saturday night’s matches.
Felda United piled on the agony for the soldiers after winning 2-1 at the Selayang Stadium to stay unbeaten after three matches and lead the table with seven points, the same as Perak.
Kelantan who were leading the table after two fixtures were shot down by the cops in humiliating fashion, suffering a 0-4 defeat to Police at the Sultan Mohd IV Stadium, their own backyard.
Felda United scored through Ahmad Syamim Yahya (15th min) and Edward Junior Wilson (28th min) before Armed Forces reduced the deficit through new signing Norshahrul Idlan Talaha in the 34th minute.
Perak also managed to maintain their unbeaten record albeit a 2-2 draw against Lions XII from Singapore, at the Perak Stadium in Ipoh. Charles Chad Souza and Namkung Woong scored for Perak in the 27th and 49th minutes while Lions XII had their share of goals through Khairul Amri (4th min) and Firdaus Kasman (68th min).
The Cops’ goal fest was started by Maldives import Ali Ashfaq on the stroke of half-time while Dramane Traore added the second through a 54th minute penalty when Ali was brought down inside the box.
Ali later added his second in the 72nd minute before Gambia import Mohamadou Sumareh completed the rout in the 85th minute.
