Banjarmasin Satpolair captured three river robbers

BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: The Banjarmasin Water Police Unit (Satpolair) captured three men suspected often rob vessels mooring on the edge of waters in this city, Antaranews reported.

Satpolair chief AKP Untung Widodo, SH here on Monday, said the perpetrators were arrested at around 02.00 am on Monday (23/2) in the waters of the River Awang Alalak in their action aboard LCT SBO3.

Three actors after examination unknown as Yusuf alias Obop (25), Sungai Lauk resident, Sub-district Tamban, Batola District, Zaini Gaini (21), resident of Sungai Lauk, Tingggiran Luar, Batola and Andreansyah aka Andre (26) resident of Jelapat 2.

“On their deeds shipowner suffered losses of up to Rp75 million and victims have reported the incident,” he said.

According to him, these are  specialist thieves on board and they did not hesitate to injure the victim if the victim fights.

From the arrest, the police managed to secure the evidence of their crimes of which four batteries, two 12 kg gas canisyers, two ampar, two oil pump machines, a saber, a chain breaker pliers, two crowbars, two Handytalky, the binoculars, flashlight, stone one sack, oil flowmeter and pump meters.

The police are doing development to find other players who fled during an arrest.

The results of the momentary investigation the suspects are charged under Article 363 of the Code of Criminal Law (KUHAP) about theft by weighting and carries a penalty of over five years.
