Thai Airways to compensate 11 people injured in plane

BANGKOK: Thai Airways will compensate 11 people who were injured after its A340-600 jet was hit by an air pocket en route from Japan to Thailand on Thursday.

The 11 people including passengers and crew members were taken to hospital after flight TG641 reached Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok at 3:51 p.m. Thursday, Xinhua news agency reported.

Thai Airways Charamporn president Jotikasthira did not specify the people’s nationalities and extent of their injuries.

The aircraft left Narita Airport at 10:45 a.m. local time with 227 passengers, two pilots and 22 crew members on board. –BERNAMA
