PM: BN will honour all promises

BELADIN: All projects planned by the Barisan Nasional (BN), including those pledged during elections, will be honoured.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak stressed that the BN would only promise projects within their capabilities.

“They are not empty promises. The BN’s elected representatives and the implementing agencies have always been reminded to go to the ground to deliver the projects as promised,” he said when launching a proposed community hall at Lot 70, Block 13 Sablor Land District, Beladin Regional Growth Centre yesterday.

“We don’t promise the moon and the stars. We promise things that we are capable of fulfilling. This is our credibility.”

Najib gave his approval for the construction of the community hall when he visited Beladin two years ago.

Apart from the RM3.6 million community hall project, the Prime Minister also announced the approval for the construction of a police station here, which he said also proved the government’s concern for the people.

He said the tender for the RM20 million project would be called in September and it is expected to begin by the year end.

With the launching of the proposed community hall, Najib said the locals would soon have a conducive place to hold social activities.

Occupying 10,764 square feet on a 1.95ha site, the community hall will be able to accommodate 1,000 people.

Among the future facilities are an audio visual room, three badminton courts and a surau.

Among those present were Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu Numpang, Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities Dato Sri Douglas Uggah Embas, Minister of Works Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, and Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim.
