LDP holds ‘thank you’ CNY open house

KOTA KINABALU: Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) celebrated the Chinese New Year with a state-level open house yesterday to thank all quarters for their strong support towards the party.

LDP President Datuk Teo Chee Kang wished for the well-being of Malaysia, in particular Sabah, in the Year of the Goat.

“Despite the challenges, I am confident that Malaysia and Sabah will have a bright future this year,” Teo said in his welcoming speech at the event.

The Chinese New Year open house held at the Grand Ballroom of The Pacific Sutera was graced by Head of State Tun Juhar Datuk Haji Mahruddin and wife Toh Puan Datuk Seri Panglima Hjh Norlidah Datuk RM Jasni as well as Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman.

Teo, who is also the Minister of Special Tasks, sang a song entitled ‘You Raised Me Up’ to thank all quarters who have been supportive towards the party and him at the open house.

The event was attended by around 2,000 guests, including state cabinet ministers, leaders of Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties, heads of community associations, Chinese chambers and non-governmental organizations, as well as members of the public.
