SFC seizes 230 logs in Ulu Sungai Teban

The suspected illegal logs seized at Ulu Sungai Teban.

BINTULU: Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) confiscated 230 logs with a volume of 400 cubic metres, at Ulu Sungai Teban, Jalan Bintulu-Tubau here yesterday.

According to a SFC press statement yesterday, this was the second seizure since Chinese New Year and the logs are believed to have been illegally felled.

“More than 2,300 logs and hewn timber with a total volume of more than 2,300 cubic metres, have been seized throughout the two months of 2015.

The estimated market value for these logs amounts to over RM2 million,” SFC said.
