BEAUFORT: The United Sabah Bisaya Association (USBA) lodged a police report against an individual for accusing the association of obtaining a timber concession area from the government.

USBA president Datuk Seri Panglima Lajim Haji Ukin lodged the report at the district police station here last Saturday, claiming that the allegation had been posted on the social media, namely Facebook and WhatsApp.

“This issue will lead to adverse implication on the association, in particular on me as the president.

“Besides, it would also be triggering a negative perception among the association members and the Bisaya community as a whole,’ he said after lodging the police report. He was accompanied by USBA officials and members.

Lajim, who is also Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sabah chief, contended that the allegation was baseless and was deliberately posted on the social media to tarnish the good image of the association and his leadership.

“We want the police to investigate the matter and take action against the individual who is responsible for posting the allegation on the social media,” added the Klias assemblyman.
