KUCHING: Grand Margherita Hotel’s Meisan Restaurant will offer two nine-course menus to mark Chap Goh Meh – the finale of the Chinese New Year celebrations – this Thursday.

The first selection begins the restaurant’s signature Prosperity Salmon Yee Sang with Crispy Shredded Treasures and Plum Dressing, before moving on to Braised Shark’s Fin with Crabmeat and Fish Roe, Steamed Pomfret with Superior Broth, Baked Chicken in Silver Foil and Fire Cracker, Meisan Butter Prawns with Curry Leaves and Birds’ Eye Chillies, Braised Sea Cucumber with Scallops, Mushroom and Broccoli, and Braised Crispy Noodles with Chicken Dumplings for the entrées.

The second menu still features the prerequisite yee sang, but with a different take. Diners can toss the Abalone Yee Sang with Shredded Treasure and Plum Dressing for luck, before proceeding to Braised Shark’s Fin with Crabmeat and Fish Roe, Steamed Cod Fish with Golden Mushroom, Meisan Stuffed Crab with Sweet Peas, Braised Sea Cucumber with Scallops, Baked Chicken in Silver Foil and Fire Cracker, Mushroom and Broccoli, and Wok-fried Fragrant Rice with Prawn Meat and Pineapples.

Guests will enjoy ‘Homemade Golden Pumpkins with Lotus Paste’ to finish off the meal, as well as free-flow Jasmine Tea.

The first set is priced at RM888++, while the second is RM1,028.

At Grand Margherita’s sister establishment, the Riverside Majestic Hotel will also hold a grand Chap Goh Mei feast at its River Palace Restaurant.

Diners can choose either one of three menus, prepared by the hotel’s executive chef Chef Azhari and his crew.
