Limbang crowned champion in Maksak competition

Maksak Limbang team in joy lifting the trophy and showing off their medals.

MIRI: Maksak Limbang emerged champion in the Sarawak Maksak Inter-Division Football Championship on Sunday.

Limbang won the championship after edging Samarahan 1-0 in the final.

Third place was shared by Kuching and Miri Hijau team in the Government Staff Welfare, Sports & Recreation Council (Maksak).

Limbang also landed the individual titles as two of their players, Khairul Firdaus was titled as the Best Player and Liew Yii Mee as the Best Goal Keeper.

The prize presentation ceremony was graced by Miri Maksak deputy chairman Emang Oyo Emang at Miri Stadium.

A total of 12 teams participated in the turnament which started on February 28.

The participating teams were Maksak Kuching, Sri Aman, Sibu, Limbang, Sarikei, Kapit, Bintulu, Samarahan, Mukah, Betong, Miri Hijau and Miri Putih.
