Maybank Investment Bank appoints Fad’l as deputy CEO

KUALA LUMPUR: Maybank Investment Bank (Maybank IB) has appointed Fad’l Mohamed as its Deputy Chief Executive Officer, effective yesterday.

He will assist John Chong, Chief Executive Officer of Maybank IB and Maybank Kim Eng Group, in the investment banking business in Malaysia, said Maybank IB in a statement here.

“We are delighted to have Fad’l on board.

With his vast experience in investment banking and strong corporate network, we are confident that he will be able to further strengthen Maybank IB’s leadership position,” John Chong said.

Prior to joining Maybank IB, Fad’l was the Managing Director of Maestro Capital Sdn Bhd, a licenced corporate finance advisory firm focusing primarily in mergers and acquisitions, fund raising and IPO, which he founded in 2004.

He started his career as a lawyer with Rashid & Lee and had previously served the Securities Commission Malaysia and Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, among others. — Bernama
