PUTRAJAYA: Knowledge sharing programmes which could produce more knowledge culture-inclined human capital should be held regularly, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Joseph Entulu Belaun.

He said the advancement in science and technology which dominated the western countries and Japan was a manifestation of the knowledge culture that had been ingrained in their respective societies.

“Knowledge and learning is a natural element in human civilisation. It is therefore not surprising as history has shown, that knowledge culture is instrumental in the rise and fall of the human race,” he said.

Entulu said this at an Education Service Commission discourse at the Prime Minister’s Department here yesterday.

Invited as a speaker at the programme was national astronaut Datuk Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor Al-Masrie Sheikh Mustapha.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor said parents should encourage their children to love science from a young age.

“I had been interested in space exploration since aged 10. That interest motivated me to become a doctor. Being a doctor did not diminish my fascination for outer space.” — Bernama
