KUCHING: Police detained five men and seized over 20 computers when they raided cyber gambling premises at a shoplot in Central Park yesterday.
Following a tip-off, a team from district police headquarters, led by deputy police chief Supt Entusa Iman, arrived at the premises located on the first floor above a mini-supermarket.
The team found four male customers playing online gambling games and detained them along with a male worker after he failed to produce an entertainment licence.
All five were brought to the district police headquarters for questioning, with 21 computers and over RM200 cash seized from the premises as evidence.
The case is being investigated under the Entertainment Ordinance 2000 and the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953.
