KUCHING: Sarawak Muaythai Association (PMS) officials have congratulated Lempong Muaythai Club for their dominance at the P194 Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof Cup youth muaythai tournament which was held at the PMS State Muaythai Centre, near Kuching Civic Centre on Sunday.

Their boxers Mohammad Norhakim, Muhd Nurhasbullah Rahman and Mohamad Nurhaffizh Rahman snatched three of the five bouts contested.

The two other fights were won by KPS Muaythai Club’s Muhammad Nazim Nazrul and SS Fighter’s Mohd Syahmi Affif.

“While we do not wish to take anything away from the other clubs, all boxers from the Lempong Muaythai Club have shown sheer determination and figthing spirit to give out a very interesting fight on that day,” a PMS official told The Borneo Post yesterday.

He added that it is good to see competition among clubs and fighters in the state as long as it remains healthy.

“More clubs and boxers winning titles could only spell more potential boxers from Sarawak. That is why we encourage competition.”

Muaythai events in Sarawak are notably active around Kuching division.
