HONG KONG: A recent survey by the University of Hong Kong shows a high number of Hong Kong people are willing to bequeath their bodies to medical education.

About 84 percent of 807 respondents said they had heard of body donation and 51 percent are willing to donate their bodies after death, Xinhua new agency reports quoting RTHK.

Dr. LK Chan of the university’s Department of Anatomy said body donations had grown steadily over the past decade and demand has continued.

The department runs a body donation programme that allows people to donate their bodies for medical education and research purposes. –BERNAMA
