TAWAU: SM Holy Trinity School’s Alphege Dinsi John Mojiun did not expect to get 10A’s as he was not confident in his Biology paper.

“First of all, I thank God for his blessings. I am happy, a little shocked as I did not expect to do that well because the Biology questions were more difficult,” he said.

Alphege said he prepared for his exam about five months earlier and spent about three hours of study a day and about six hours as the examination date approached.

“I have not decided on my next move yet but might try medicine,” he said.

Alphege advised those sitting for SPM this year to keep referring to their teachers and not to give up as the new format questions were more difficult.

He said students need to find a balance between study and social activities and not to study too much as they can become anti-social.

“Talk to parents, go for outing and recreation activities. Be happy, relax and have a balance in life,” he said.

He also thanked all who have encouraged and helped him in his studies, especially teachers and school mates.

Alphege’s father, John Mojiun said as a parent, he was happy for his son’s result and thanked the school principal, Chu Set Mei and all the teachers for their dedication towards the good result.

“I also thank my wife who is the St Ursula School principal for her dedication on our son’s study. As a retired estate manager, mine is on the discipline side as I focus on my son’s study and I thank God he did very well,” he said.

John said he wished for his son to become a doctor but the choice is up to him.

SM Holy Trinity scored 89.8 per cent passes and a 5.32 School Average Grade. A total of 128 students sat for the exam.

The school also has a 7A achiever in Alyssa Sabrina bt Mohd Shukri and Muhd Saharudin b Sainuddin and Jessica bt Brahim obtained 6As.
