MIRI: A 51-year-old security guard was found hanged, believed in a suicide at a gas processing company at Jalan Primula in Piasau Industrial Estate yesterday.
The body was discovered by a 47-year-old mechanical supervisor when he arrived for work at about 6.50am yesterday.
He said he was surprised to see the main gate locked when he reached the workplace and the security guard nowhere to be found.
“Since the gate was locked and the security guard was not there, I climbed over the gate and when I walked towards the workshop, I was shocked to see someone hanging from a rope. It took me awhile to recognise him,” he said.
Paramedics from Miri Hospital called to the scene pronounced the victim dead.
Police also came and classified the case as Sudden Death Report (SDR).
