KUCHING: The state-level Tilawah Al-Quran Sarawak organising committee members paid a courtesy call on Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud at the Astana here yesterday.
They were led by Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office (Islamic Affairs) Datuk Daud Abdul Rahman, who is also Committee of Sarawak Islamic Festivals Celebrations chairman.
The visit was to invite Taib to attend the closing ceremony of Tilawah Al-Quran at Dewan Suarah Sri Aman on March 29.
The Tilawah Al-Quran starts on March 26.
