JALAN KEBANGSAAN, BRUNEI-MUARA: The newly appointed Speaker of the Legislative Council (LegCo), YB Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib, adjourned the LegCo meeting until 9.30am tomorrow (March 7) on his first official day as Speaker yesterday, ©BRUDIRECT.COM reported.
The Speaker also extended his gratitude for his appointment by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
Nine key subjects will be discussed in this year’s session, including the budget for the 2015-2016 financial year for government ministries and departments.
As no proposals for change were made by LegCo members on the minutes of yesterday’s meeting, the Speaker adjourned the council for the official opening ceremony of the 11th LegCo Session.
