PUTRAJAYA: The Election Commission (EC) received 57,247 applications for new voter registration and 11,551 applications for voting centre transfer in the fourth quarter of 2014.

Its secretary Datuk Abdul Ghani Salleh said the Additional Electoral Roll (DPT) bill would be displayed at 935 locations nationwide, for 14 days from March 10 until March 23.

“During the period, those who had applied to be new voters or change their voting centre in October, November and December, 2014 are advised to view the 4/2014 DPT bill,” he said in a statement here yesterday.

He said the DPT bill would be displayed at 15 state election offices, computerised post offices (449), government complexes/offices (85), district/land offices (124), and district/municipal councils (52).

Voters can also view the DPT bill at multi purpose/neighbourhood watch/community halls (193) and other venues (17) throughout the country.

“If their name is not on the roll, they can file a claim using Form B; registered voters who want to object to the inclusion of any person in the DPT bill may do so through Form C.

“They can submit the forms to the registrar (EC state director) during office hours throughout the display period,” he said.

According to Abdul Ghani, registered voters could object against not more than 20 persons in the electoral roll, in accordance with sub-regulation 15(3) of the Election Regulations (Registration of Voters 2002).

He said the EC would also display the list of voters whose names had been removed from the roll.
