PUTRAJAYA: The next of kin of passengers and crew of the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 are advised to get counselling services from the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry (KPWKM) as the first anniversary of the disappearance of the flight on March 8, last year approaches.

Its minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim said she had directed all counselors under the ministry to provide whatever support required by the next of kins of the passengers and flight crew.

“There are families who had already called us for counseling. They need help and they want to talk to a counsellor. Families of the passengers and crew can call the counselors any time,” she said when asked by reporters on support given by the ministry to the next of kins, ahead of the anniversary of the disappearance of the flight.

Rohani said the ministry provided counselling support and the government did not plan any special program to mark the first anniversary of the disappearance of the aircraft on Sunday.

She said the families of passengers and crew were always contacting the counselors to talk about their feelings since the loss of the aircraft.

“Some of them always voiced their concern to the counselor if the MH370 search is to be terminated,” she said.  — Bernama
