Monarch Consented to Grant Audience for New Ambassadors

DAMUAN, BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: His Majesty the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izaddien Waddaulah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, the Sultan and the Yang Di Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday consented to present Letters of Credence to Brunei Darussalam’s newly-appointed Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and receive Letters of Credence from the newly-appointed Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Brunei Darussalam. The ceremony took place at the Istana Nurul Iman,©BRUDIRECT.COM reported.

His Majesty first consented to present Letters of Credence to His Excellency Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Salam bin Abdul Momin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste.

The next envoy was Her Excellency Rakiah binti Haji Abdul Lamit alias Hamid, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the Federal Republic of Germany.

And finally, His Excellency Pengiran Abdul Samad bin Pengiran Haji Metasan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

His Majesty then consented to receive Letters of Credence from His Excellency Mr Craig Boyd Allen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America.

Followed by His Excellency Vladlen Stanislavovich Semivolos, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation.

And finally, His Excellency Chirdchu Raktabutr, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Thailand.

Following the ceremony, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to receive in audience to the newly appointed envoys of Brunei Darussalam. His Excellency Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Salam, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic Democratic of Timor-Leste, aged 53, previously served as Second Clerk to the Legislative Councils.

Her Excellency Rakiah, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Federal Republic of Germany, aged 54, previously served as Director at The Department of Protocol and Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. And His Excellency Pengiran Abdul Samad, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Islamic Republic of Iran, aged 54, previously served as Acting Director of Security at The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

His Majesty later granted separate audience to the newly-appointed foreign envoys to Brunei Darussalam. His Majesty first consented to receive in audience from His Excellency, Mr Craig Boyd Allen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Brunei Darussalam, aged 57, who previously served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for China at the United States Department of Commerce.

Next were His Excellency Vladlen Stanislavovich Semivolos, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation, 53, who previously served as Deputy Director of the Department of Asia and Pacific Cooperation of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Lastly His Excellency Mr Chirdchu Raktabutr, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Thailand to Brunei Darussalam, 53, who previously served as Minister Counsellor at The Royal Thai Embassy in Berlin, the Federal Republic of Germany.
