ALOR SETAR: Police arrested three men for possessing Syabu and heroin, as well as Erimin 5 pills worth RM16,150 during a roadblock along the Jalan Langgar-Pokok Sena route, early Sunday morning.

Kota Setar district police deputy chief Rohana Omar said the three men, aged between 26 and 31 who were travelling in a rented car, were arrested at 12.15am when they were heading towards Pokok Sena.

She said police inspection on the car revealed three bags at the dashboard area of the front passenger which were filled with 15 packets of Syabu weighing 35.85gm, nine packets of heroin weighing 229.71gm and seven Erimin 5 pills.

“We also seized RM3,468 in cash from the dashboard. We found a kerambit knife and a T-baton believed to be used for criminal activities,” she said at a news conference at the Kota Setar police headquarters yesterday.

All the suspects who were from Pokok Sena and Kulim were believed to be drug peddlers in the northern state after the discovery of electronic weighing scales and seven mobile phones.

Rohana said the three suspects arrested also tested positive for morphine and methamphetamine, and they had past criminal records for drugs, theft and motor theft.

All three suspects had been remanded from Sunday until March 15 to help with investigations, she added. — Bernama
