2nd TYT Muaythai Cup 2015 to be held from March 18-21

BINTULU: The second edition of the Head of State (TYT) Muaythai Cup 2015 tournament will be held from March 18 to 21 at the Bintulu old airport site.

Defending champion Shafilaludin Nordin is set to defend his TYT CUP 2015 title on March 18, which is expected to be attended by Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud.

The international invitational fight involving fighters from Singapore, Thailand and Sarawak will also be held on the same night.

Two other side tournaments will also take place; namely Bintulu Muaythai Cup and Borneo Muaythai Cup.

Defending champion Kabilan Javilan is set to defend his title under the 57 kg pro category of the Bintulu Muaythai Cup.

Meanwhile, the Borneo Muaythai Cup (amateur and pro categories) involving fighters from Sarawak, Sabah, Labuan and Indonesia will kick-off on March 20, with the winner to be decided during the final on March 21.

So far, a total of 34 fighters from Sabah, 10 from Labuan and 50 from Sarawak have confirmed their participation in the event.

A total of 10 international fighters from Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia will be taking part in the tournament.

There will be other side activities for youths such as martial arts performance on March 19, auto show, aerobic exercise, colouring contest for children, sepak takraw, pet lovers gathering and others.

The tournament is jointly organised by Bintulu Development Authority, Bintulu Resident’s Office, Sarawak Muaythai Association and other government agencies.
