Fire victims receive donations from NGOs

Muis distributes the dry food and kitchen wares to one of the victims.

TAWAU: Four organisations contributed daily necessities to 69 households who were made homeless after their houses at Kg Sentosa, Jln Utara here, were destroyed by fire on Monday.

The district welfare department distributed dry food and kitchen wares to the fire victims yesterday afternoon, followed by Life Water Industries Sdn Bhd which contributed 70 boxes of mineral water to them.

The Lions Club of Tawau Host also contributed food items such as instant noodles, canned food, rice and eggs to the victims.

In the morning, the Malaysian Red Crescent,Tawau Chapter led by its chairman Pang Pak Chung also contributed 50 bags of used clothing to the fire victims.

Also present at the event were Sebatik assemblyman Datuk Muis Picho, Tawau Municipal Council (TMC) president Datuk Ismail Mayakob, assistant district police chief Superintendent Keong Ho Eng, Lions Club of Tawau Host chairman Daniel Wong, Life Water Industries Sdn Bhd sales representative Daniel Chia Tshun Chee, DHN(K.K) Sdn Bhd (mineral water agent) sales manager Eileen Wong.
