BINTULU: Yayasan Sukarelawan Siswa (YSS) has once again extended a helping hand to 119 pupils of Sekolah Kebangsaan Labang in Sebauh under its “YSS Walk With Love” programme today.
YSS in a statement here today said the donation, in the form of shoes and stationery, was a follow-up of an earlier visit in August last year when the bare-footed pupils received slippers and sandals.
“At that time, YSS found out that many of the pupils went to school wearing only slippers or bare-footed due to poverty,” it said.
Today’s post flood assistance was handed over by YSS board of directors’ member Datuk Mior Kamarulbaid Mior Shahid to every class representative from year one to six.
Also present were SK Labang headmaster Roslan Rosli, district education officer’s representative Feislina Talib and village headman Murshidi Tali.
In his speech, Mior Kamarulbaid hoped the aid could ease the burden of their families as they had to spent a lot of money to rebuild their damaged houses and replace damaged properties affected by the recent floods.-Bernama
