KUANTAN: A woman was killed and seven others were hurt when a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) overturned at KM 205.6 of the East Coast Highway (Kuantan-bound) yesterday.
The vehicle was reported to have skidded, hit the road divider and overturned when its right rear tyre burst, in the incident at 1.35pm.
Pahang Public Order and Traffic chief Supt Mohd Noor Yusof Ali said police identified the dead victim as Fatimah Bakar, 64.
Five others seriously injured were the MPV driver Mohd Khairi Mohd Jantan, 41, his children aged nine to 12 years old and sister-in-law Tuan Nur Liyana Tuan Kob, 23.
Mohd Khairi’s wife, Tuan Norakma Tuan Kob, 38, and their youngest child Mohamad Haikal Ramadhan, 2, were slightly injured.
