LANGKAWI: Destini Prima Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Destini Bhd, aims to become the premier maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) service provider in the region after securing a three-year contract worth RM8 million from the Defence Ministry.

Its Executive Director, Major Kabol Surat said the contract entailed providing life raft and life jacket MRO services, as well as replacing parts, to the Royal Malaysian Navy.

He said the services would be undertaken by highly-skilled personnel from Destini Prima.

“This contract award affirms that we are on the right track to maintain our profitability as well as contribute to the financial sustainability of the group as we move forward,” he told Bernama on the sideline of the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) 2015 here yesterday.

He said the group has a number of new projects in the pipeline that would have positive prospects for the future.

“By balancing our revenue streams between both local and international channels, we believe that we can continue to steadily grow both operations and market reach while continuing to deliver value to our stakeholders,” he said.

Kabol said the contract came on the heels of a recently signed landmark agreement the company had secured with Survitec Group International Ltd. (Survitec), a leading manufacturer of personal survival equipment in the marine, defence and aerospace industries.

It is a testament to the high technical proficiency and world class level of service delivery that the group provides, he said, adding that it is an excellent example that Malaysian companies are not only competitive, but also excel locally and globally.

“As a homegrown Malaysian company, we take this responsibility very seriously, and pledge to do our utmost to meet all their requirements and needs,” he said.

He said the group is currently the sole organisation undertaking the MRO of safety and survival-related equipment for the military aviation and marine agencies in Malaysia for over 10 years.

“We are deeply grateful for the confidence in us in awarding this contract and we are committed to ensuring the highest standards of support and assistance to our men and women in uniform,” he added. — Bernama
