KUCHING: Two middle-aged women were among four people arrested by police for drug possession during a raid at a house at Kampung Sungai Bedil Besar in Petra Jaya on Thursday.
They were nabbed at around 4pm when a team from the district Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) showed up following a tip-off.
The women, aged 53 and 55, are believed to be related as they share the same address.
Two men in their 20s, who were at the house at the time of the raid, were also arrested by police after a search of the premises produced a translucent packet containing a crystalline substance thought to be syabu, weighing approximately 7.5 grammes.
All four suspects were brought to district police headquarters for interrogation prior to being held pending further investigation under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
