8 sectors identified for NDP

JALAN KEBANGSAAN, BRUNEI-MUARA: Eight sectors have been focused under the budget of the National Development Plan (NDP), for the Financial Year 2015-2016. The Minister of Development stated the focused sectors are the clean water supply, the social services, the transportation, the communication, the industrial and trading sector, the miscellaneous, the public buildings and the information and info-communication technology, Brudirect reported.

Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi stated the criteria used to assess the projects of NDP 2015-2016, are as of the following; projects to generate economic development; projects to increase productivity in public or private sector; projects that pertain to knowledge, research and innovation; completed projects to pay penultimate payment and deposits; projects under implementation to pay for development; projects under tender and in designing to pay for initial works and consultation fees.

Yang Berhormat Pehin said, until the 12th of March this year, the precise expenditures for the 10th NDP was BND$937.1 million, which was 81.5 per cent from the allocated budget of BND$1,150 million.

Therefore, to date, the 10th National Development Plan has consumed BND$3,798.7 million.

Meanwhile, the expenditures for the upcoming N-D-P for the Financial Year 2014-2015 will be expected to increase to BND$1,100 million.
