MIRI: Several road users helped to extricate the driver of a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle following an accident yesterday.

In the single vehicle accident around 2.50am, the man in his 50s somehow lost control of the 4WD and rammed it into a tree.

The impact led the vehicle to turn turtle, trapping the driver in his seat.

He was travelling on his own back to his house at Piasau Garden when the accident occurred.

Thankfully witnesses at the scene managed to get him out of the vehicle.

The man sustained injuries on his left leg and was taken to hospital in an ambulance.
