BETONG: Betong District Police Chief DSP Aidil Bolhassan revealed that the government has approved RM40 million to build two police stations – one each in Beladin and Debak.

He told reporters this on Wednesday after the 208th Police Day celebration at Betong District Police Station here.

Work to build these two police stations will be carried out this year.

They would reduce the workload of Betong Police Station in the fight against crime.

Aidil revealed that this month (up to March 24), no crime was reported but there were 17 cases from Jan 1 to end of February from 10 last year – an increase of 17.39 per cent.

“Only one individual was apprehended by police in March with no traffic offences or summonses issued,” he said.

Aidil believed the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) Transformation Plan and Strategic Plan 2015-2020 would have greater impact in combating crime.

He said the plan outlined various steps to be taken by the police to achieve a world class work etiquette.
