Break-up not surprising for State Speaker

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah State Assembly Speaker Datuk Salleh Said Keruak was not surprised that Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and Democratic Action Party (DAP) decided to part ways with PAS.

“Their struggles are not similar, and their ideology is too different,” he said.

He added that it should be clear to everyone that their merger was geared at getting posts and they were selfish.

Salleh also said he would not be surprised if PKR and DAP would eventually decide to go separate ways.

He commented that Barisan Nasional (BN) had no qualms about the three parties merging since BN knew it had the people’s backing.

“We went through several successful elections. The people are with us,” he said.
