Couple among 21 held for online gambling

MIRI: A man and his wife were among 21 people arrested by the police here for suspected illegal online gambling on Sunday under ‘Ops Dadu’.

The suspects, aged from 23 to 58, were arrested during a raid led by Inspector Koay Kok Ping around 4.30pm.

“We raided a premise at Piasau Industrial Estate and rounded up four women and 17 men,” said Miri police chief ACP Gan Tian Kee.

Ten computers and RM130 cash were seized.

All suspects were later detained at Miri central police station to be investigated under section 4B(a) Common Gaming House Act 1953 and section 5(2) Entertainment Ordinance 2001.
