KUCHING: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato James Chan yesterday received a courtesy call from Nathan Le Roux, project manager of Logos Hope.

Le Roux visited Chan to brief him on the ship’s visit to Kuching.

The floating book store will arrive in Kuching on April 1 and will berth at Sim Kheng Hong Port, Pending here throughout April.

This is the third visit and the last in their South East Asia tour.

The tour is to promote international understanding through cultural exchange programmes, community service initiatives as well as the floating book fair.

The ship has a multicultural crew of around 400 volunteers and stocked with half a million books with a wide range of titles and subjects.

There will be also a large selection of children’s books.

The opening hours on April 2 (Thursday) is from 1pm to 9.30pm. On April 3 (Friday), they open from 2pm to 9.30pm.

For the rest of their time here, the opening hours are from 2pm to 9.30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays, 10am to 9.30pm from Wednesdays to Saturdays, and 1pm to 9.30pm on Sundays.

Entrance fee is RM1 per person (adult) and free for children under 12 years old.
