BAMAKO: The MUJAO jihadist group on Monday claimed responsibility for an attack on a Red Cross aid truck in northern Mali that left one international staff member dead and wounded a local colleague.

MUJAO spokesman Abou Walid Sahraoui said the attack in the northern city of Gao had killed “a driver who worked for the enemy”.

“We have achieved what we wanted with this attack,” he told AFP by phone. -AFP
