KUALA LUMPUR: Prudential BSN Takaful Bhd (PruBSN) has teamed up with CIMB Bank to use the latter’s Plug n Pay service to provide online takaful coverage.

PrudentialBSN chief executive officer, Azim Mithani, said this service would make it convenience for people to make payments and with this PruBSN’s mobility would grow with CIMB Bank’s Plug n Pay service.

“Since its launch in October 2013, PruBSN mobility has made more than 48,000 submissions.

“And the number is expected to grow further with the installation of the Plug and Pay device as customers can now be covered within minutes,” he told a media briefing after the launch of PruBSN mobility Plug n Pay in collaboration with CIMB Bank here yesterday.

Azim said customers would no longer have to spend time filling in forms and this would further reduce the impact on the environment.

Plug n Pay by CIMB Bank is Malaysia’s first-ever chip-based mobile point-of-sale solution that offers businesses of any size an affordable yet secure way to manage electronic payments using their smartphones and tablets.

CIMB group chief executive officer of group consumer banking, Renzo Christopher Viegas, said with Plug and Pay, transactions such as payments using smartphones and tablets could now be done anytime and anywhere.

“The customer can settle fees securely on-the-spot using either their credit or debit card,” he said.

He said the Plug and Pay device was also customised to PruBSN mobility which made it the first of such innovation in the industry.

Azim and CIMB Group chief executive officer and group wholesale banking, Tengku Datuk Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, jointly officiated the launch of the service. — Bernama
