Sarawak Sea Scout launches its secretariat committee in Miri

MIRI: The Sarawak Sea Scout recently launched its secretariat committee here, and it is chaired by Sarawak Sea Scout Chief Commissioner Bolhasan Abdul Latif.

Bolhasan said the task of the committee is to administer and ensure the smooth running of scout’s movement. And they will be responsible for overseeing all the activities organised by the Sea Scout as well as managing the Sea Scout Academy in Sarawak.

“Miri has been chosen for the set up of the secretariat committee as its location is seen as strategic for the organising of sea scout training schemes,” said Bolhasan.

The secretariat’s installation ceremony held last Sunday at Eastwood Valley Golf and Country Club was officiated at by Sarawak Scout Commissioner Sudaryo Osman. Holding the post of deputy chairman is Bujang Lim, while Daniel Munyi is the secretary, and Nur Izzatie Nadia Subri is the assistant secretary.

Other secretariat members are Mohd Basri Jol (treasurer), Caroline Siburat (assistant treasurer), Chua Soon Teng (development and acquisition), and Eric Ngieng Sheng Chung (corporate and communication).

Ordinary committee members comprise Empari Hong, Hasrul Hafiz Hamdan, Yap Nyuk Foo, Alvin Johnson, Muhammad Matsah, Henry Jugah, Kho Lian Heng, Fauziah Pata, and Fadhliatun Suhaili. The committee is also supported by Malaysia Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA), Bomba and Marine Department.
