Don’t miss out on Aiffa happening this week

KUCHING: Tickets to the Asean International Film Festival and Awards (Aiffa) are still available for purchase.

Members of the public can still purchase tickets to the glitzy event happening this April 9 to 11 online at www.ticketcharge.com.my and the Sarawak Tourism Complex as well as Speedy outlets in The Spring and Plaza Merdeka.

Those attending will get to watch a movie surrounded by nature at the Movies in the Rainforest event on April 10, along with a 12-hour movie marathon starting at 6pm until 6am the following day at the Sarawak Cultural Village.

Tickets are priced at RM30 per person. Movies shown will be nominated Asean films that are competing. Film fans will also be able to meet film makers and celebrities.

The Awesome Sarawak Short Film competition will take place the same night at SCV, and guests can look forward to live performances by Dayang Nurfaizah, Emilia Contessa and Korean pop group Nolza.

The highlight of Aiffa is the Gala Nite happening on April 11 at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) from 6pm onwards. The black tie formal event will feature a star-studded guest list, including Datuk Jackie Chan and Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh.

At RM500 per seat, the public can enjoy a five-course dinner in the presence of Asean and international film personalities and artistes. Attendees will be able to watch the awards presentation as well as live performances by Anuar Zain, Piolo Pascual, Dewi Liana Seriestha, Emilia Contessa, Tata Young and Nolza.

Alternatively, the public can choose to pay RM50 for the Zone C area at BCCK where they can watch the red carpet extravaganza and take photographs at the international awards night. There will be a live performance by Dasha Logan at the designated zone.

Throughout the three days of Aiffa, there will also be film industry seminars and exhibitions happening at the Sarawak Tourism Complex, including acting workshops by a French acting coach, Asean-China-Korea Forum and others.

To date, a total of 287 delegates in the film industry from all over the world will be attending the event.
