PENAMPANG: The State Barisan Nasional (BN) yesterday expressed undivided support and confidence on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak in leading the coalition and the government.

Its state liaison chief, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said Najib had proven his leadership and contributed significantly to the development of the country in general and Sabah in particular through his inclusive and visionary development programmes.

“As such, the state government of Sabah and all its leaders as well as the BN Sabah community as a whole, always support Najib’s administration and leadership,” he said this to reporters after gracing the 60th anniversary of Sabah Credit Corporation (SCC) here.

On Monday, BN Backbenchers Club chairman Tan Sri Shahrir Samad defended Najib’s leadership against sharp criticisms from the vocal former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed, who posted on his blog chedet.cc that Umno and BN would lose in the next elections if the current Prime Minister was allowed to continue leading the party and the government.

Shahrir said all BN members of parliament stood firmly behind Najib, dismissing Mahathir’s remarks as personal and Najib would respond to it when the time came.
