SIBU: Two men brought before a magistrate’s yesterday to face a charge for two counts of criminal breach of trust were released on bail in the sum of RM10,000 with two sureties.
They are to appear in court again on April 23. Law Choon King, 66, and Lau Chung Ping, 59, were charged under Section 409 of the Penal Code which provides for a minimum two years’ and maximum 20 years’ jail with whipping and a possible fine.
They allegedly misappropriated RM5 million in funds they were entrusted to deposit in a bank as fixed deposit for a construction company at Kpg Nyabor Road on July 25, 2009.
At the same venue on Oct 20, 2009, they allegedly registered under their own names two vehicles meant to be registered under the company’s name.
