30 summonses issued by police under Ops Roda in Lawas

LAWAS: Police issued 30 summonses in this district and arrested a man under Ops Roda, which is an operation to check on motorcycles.

Two motorcycles were seized and detained at local police station to facilitate investigations. Lawas OCPD DSP Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad on Wednesday said the ongoing operation was launched simultaneously nationwide on April 3. The operation in this district included an officer and men from the Traffic Unit and two Mobile Police Vehicle (MPV), Narcotics, CID and general duty units. Over 100 motorcycles were inspected during a road block mounted at Jalan Sloating, with 30 summonses issued on-the-spot for various traffic offences.

Police also arrested an individual without a Malaysian identity card and seized two motorcycles to facilitate investigations. DSP Abang Zainal Abidin said patrols and operations in collaboration with the Road Transport Department (JPJ) would continue throughout this district, including checks on lorries and other transportation vehicles at entry points.
