Spanish Lluís Coloma to ‘jazz’ you up at Borneo Jazz Festival

KUCHING: Lluís Coloma, the multi-talented Spanish jazz pianist from Barcelona, will be back for the Borneo Jazz festival in May. Performing back in 2006 and 2007, Lluís Coloma will be remembered by fans for his different music styles and compositions as a trio, septet or soloist.

“We are happy to host this musician again and will look forward to a unique Spanish jazz experience for the audience,” said a spokesperson from the Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) in a press statement yesterday.

The two-day Borneo Jazz Festival at ParkCity Everly Hotel, Miri will be on May 8 and 9.

For jazz music lovers, early bird tickets are priced at RM80 for family package of two adults and two children (seven to 12 years of age), RM25 for a two-day child pass and RM15 for a one-day child pass. The early bird adult two-day pass is RM60 and RM40 for a one-day pass and will be on a first come first served basis which ends on April 15.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.ticketcharge.com.my and are also available at TicketCharge Call Centre, TicketCharge’s KL and Penang offices, all TicketCharge authorised outlets in the region.

In Sarawak, tickets are available at Speedy Video outlets at Plaza Merdeka and tHe Spring in Kuching, and at Speedy Video outlet in Bintang Plaza, Imperial Mall and Boulevard Shopping Centre in Miri.

They are also available at the visitors’ information centre in Miri, Sibu and Kuching. For Borneo Jazz 10th anniversary celebration, STB will feature the best performers’ lineup by bringing back favorite performers from the previous editions which covers a wide range of jazz genre from around the world.
