Bukan Lawan Nya: won as he liked in Class 1.

KUCHING: The race was his for the taking and Bukan Lawan Nya (Roslan Bujang) went on to do just that by proving peerless – as his name proclaimed – in Race 5 (Class I – 1000M) on Sunday.

The five-year-old made an early break on settling down and quickly opened up a sizeable gap round the home turn, leaving the rest to play catch-up.

The roan colt straightened up for home well clear of the field and nothing looked like catching him as the Berjaya Stable’s galloper cantered to the winning post with 7 lengths to spare from stablemate Ini Kali (Jasmi Kamar).

Another stablemate He’s The One (Maruf Wahab) was third, three-quarters length further back.

Bukan Lawan Nya, trained by Tamizi Putit, paid RM8.

Pera Pera threw a “catch-me-if-you-can” challenge to the competition but none of the other five runners was good enough

to make the slightest dent on her supremacy in Race 2 (Class 4 – 1000M).

The seven-year-old had the race won a long way out, giving Putit Othman the luxury of an armchair ride to the winning post

8 lengths clear of stablemate Honey Money (Roslan Bujang) with Little Apache (Mazlan Bujang) third, 6 lengths adrift.

Pera Pera, owned by Berjaya Stable and trained Tamizi Putit, paid RM6.

Money talked loud and clear in Race 4 (Class 2 – 1000M).

Seven-year-old No Money No Talk (Roslan Bujang) lived up to his favouritism when he came with a sustained run in the home straight to win by 2 ½ lengths from Zorro (Hamid Elli).

Royal Command (Mazlan Bujang) — making his first run after recovering from a hoof injury which kept him on the sideline for over a year, finished third.

No Money No Talk, owned by Berjaya Stable and trained by Tamizi Putit, paid RM7.

The going was yielding.

The Second Day of the Second Meeting is on April 19.
