MIRI: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Baram yesterday lodged a police report against Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau over a recent statement made by him, in which he called on Penans in Long Lamai Baram to reject the opposition.

PKR Baram secretary Dennis Along who led a group of about 17 people to Miri Central Police station (CPS) yesterday said the statement which was published on April 10 was incitement and defamation.

“He advised the people, and in this case the Penans in Baram, to reject the opposition which we think is ridiculous. His statement can cause hatred and unrest among rural folks who may have different political views,” he said.

According to the newspaper, Dennis Ngau had told the Penans in Long Lamai to reject the opposition by not welcoming them to their village.

Dennis Ngau had also claimed that the opposition spread lies by telling the people that they won the Telang Usan and Baram seats in the last election.

“All these claims as published in the news is not true and a defamation. We want him to apologies to us,” Dennis Along said.
