MIRI: Fajar International College (FIC) is welcoming Paul Ting Ing Ming, a renowned accountant, into its team of lecturers at the campus here.

The college’s latest appointee, who has over 15 years of experience in accounting and taxation, pledged his utmost best to share his knowledge with students and help improve the quality of FIC’s diploma in accountancy programme.

Ting’s credentials include memberships in the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM), and Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).

He is also tax agent certified under the Finance Ministry.

“I was involved in tax engagements concerning cross-border transactions, tax due diligence reviews, corporate tax planning and advisory, as well as tax investigation and auditing,” he said.

The diploma in accountancy is one of FIC’s premier programmes, managed by a highly-qualified lecturing staff, including Jessie Chan who is a graduate from Australia, and Annie Tang, a member of Chartered Institute of Malaysia (CIMA).

This programme is approved and accredited by the Education Ministry and Malaysia Qualification Agency (MQA), making it among the most sought after accounting qualifications locally.

For the record, FIS is the only diploma college that incorporates Goods and Services Tax (GST) application and computerised accounting to its syllabus.

Graduates from FIS’ accountancy diploma programme are able to further obtain two additional qualifications – the Certified Technician Accounting (CAT) from ACCA UK, and Association of International Accountants (AIA) that is recognised by Public Service Department (JPA) as an honorary degree equivalent.

In other words, this agreement enables school-leavers to earn degrees in less than three years after the SPM.

FIS’ track record has been highly positive, with employability rate of its accountancy diploma graduates reaching 100 per cent.
