Bob Denok
DEBAK: The body of a 31-year-old man believed mauled by a crocodile following his disappearance at Sungai Rimas here early yesterday was found at about 8.30pm.
The episode unfolded at about 3pm when Bob Denok from Kampung Babu and two of his friends were gathering Pedada fruits at the riverbank near Kampung Babu Hulu.
According to Bob’s friends, they were on the trees when they realised something amiss – Bob was nowhere to be seen.
They then heard a scream for help, and this made them believe Bob must have been attacked by a crocodile.
The last time they saw Bob was in the river, picking up Pedada fruits.
A search and rescue (SAR) operation involving the Civil Defence Department, police and villagers was called.
