Irish medical programme can be completed wholly in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: The Perdana University- Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (PU-RCSI) Medical degree programme is the only five-year Irish Medical programme that can be completed wholly in Malaysia.

Graduates will receive the MB BCh BAO degree of the National University of Ireland (NUI) and the historical Licentiates of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland (LRCP) and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland S (I).

The PU-RCSI Medical degree programme equips students with the knowledge of the human structure and function, what can go wrong, and how to manage problems which might arise.

During the five-year programme, students will acquire the understanding and clinical competence to deliver high level patient care, and the ability to communicate and interact effectively with patients and colleagues.

Students will develop the confidence and skills to undertake leadership roles for the provision of quality healthcare.

The PU-RCSI School of Medicine comprises the departments of Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Psychology, Clinical Pharmacology, Epidemiology/Public Health Medicine, Pathology, Microbiology, Medicine and Surgery.

Faculty members of the PU-RCSI School of Medicine include scientists and clinicians from Ireland, Malaysia and other countries.

Students seeking a rewarding career in healthcare can opt for the Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy (Hons) programme.

Occupational therapy is a client-centred health profession concerned in promoting health and well-being.

The primary goal of occupational therapy is to develop, recover or maintain the daily living and work skills of people with a physical, mental or cognitive disorder.

There is global demand for trained occupational therapists and the Occupational Therapy programme at Perdana University is designed to produce professionals for this field.

The skills acquired include relevant soft skills to function well in a professional and social environment.
