AMUNTAI, South Kalimantan: Innovation efforts on a wide range of local industrial and superior products faces constrains in marketing, one of which due to higher prices, Antaranews reported.

Head of North Hulu Sungai (HSU) Forestry, Plantation and HR Agency, Risnaidy, here on Wednesday, exemplifies innovation by farmers to make jerky duck without the skin in order to reduce cholesterol content, lack of response in the market, because the price is more expensive.

“Effort to add value to the product often narrow product market space and add production cost as it should give the packaging to make it more interesting,” he said.

On the other hand, there are also abundant product (surplus) but minimal market opportunities, due to lack of attention to the quality of the product.

Some local government officials of HSU questioned the efforts to overcome these problems especially in the midst of increasing competition in the product market.
