KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 673 Malaysians in Yemen have so far been evacuated from Sana’a, Hodeidah, Aden and Hadramawt.

The Foreign Ministry in a statement said they comprised 153 Malaysians in Sana’a and Hodeidah, Aden (67 Malaysians) and Hadramawt (453 Malaysians).

However there were still 215 Malaysians in Yemen, including 38 in Sana’a, another 176 in Hadramawt and one in Hodeidah.

“Hence, the government urged Malaysians who are still in Yemen to reconsider their decision to remain in that country which is experiencing turmoil,” said the statement issued here yesterday.

Meanwhile 67 Malaysians were evacuated from Aden last Tuesday and were expected to arrive in Kuala Lumpur yesterday via two flights from Jeddah.

Another 25 Malaysians were expected to arrive home by Sri Lankan Airlines flight UL314 at 2.05pm yesterday and the remaining 42 by Emirates Airlines flight EK346 at 3.05pm.
